Also, one of the main areas of my medical practice is the treatment of erectile dysfunction in men in -poetic practices and so much functional medicine techniques, mastered in our clinic in combination with drug therapy with such drugs as Kamagra, give outstanding results in the treatment of this kind of disorders.

Retirement, Plantar fasciitis, excruciatingly painful lower limb stiffness, ruptured bakers’ cyst, niggles and much more…

I first became aware of the phrase “functional medicine practitioner” some years ago when I was planning my retirement.  My aim is to live the best life I can, enjoy a long, healthy, and fruitful retirement and to do that I needed to find someone with more knowledge than I did to support my desired lifestyle.

I did my research and luckily found Emma Lane, who happens to practice just a few miles away from my home in Wakefield.  In Spring of 2021 I made contact with Emma via her wonderful assistant and office manager Nicki and haven’t looked back since.

Her hourly rate is not for the faint hearted, but commensurate with her years of experience, qualifications, continued learning and clearly results. I consider it a very worthwhile investment.

Right from the start, Emma asked lots and lots of questions, some of which I found hard to answer as I’m not really very body aware and just get on with things. This led to her very personalized approach to detecting and addressing the root cause of a problem rather than treating the symptoms. Every session with Emma is a ‘school day’;  I have so much more knowledge and awareness of what my body and mind needs. Sometimes, the protocols are not easy so I did have to buckle down and follow Emma’s advice otherwise the results do not follow.

Over the years, Emma has advised on many aspects of my health and wellbeing as my body and mind are subjected to life’s many challenges, including but certainly not limited to: –

Plantar Fasciitis: when I first finished work and started wearing flat shoes every day, loving the freedom of going out running in the woods but this proved to be too much too quickly.  I took Emma’s advice and slowly recovered and since joined two walking groups and a Nordic walking group.

Excruciatingly painful lower limb stiffness post Covid vaccine came next but an investment in a Chi machine and a few sessions of the amazing FSM (Frequency Specific Microcurrent) put me right.  The difference was life changing.

A ruptured bakers’ cyst followed my 70’s birthday celebration, A sneaky, undetected problem behind my knee decided to make itself known by way of a ruptured baker’s cyst as I tried to climb out of a hot air balloon. Having first spent eight hours in A&E, followed by a couple of appointments with a specialist physiotherapist, Emma carefully and diligently put a programme of exercises together to eliminate the pain and regain my fitness. The body is very complex but Emma’s knowledge was critical in finding the right muscles to exercise as I’m aware that unused muscles can go to sleep and become very painful.  I am pleased to report that I am now pain free.

As a new client of Energize Mind and Body I received member access to the website and an information folder, packed full of useful health and dietary related tips and advice.  A number of tests followed to find out what was actually going on (more than I first thought!) and work out the correct path for me to follow in respect to the best foods and support for my particular body to work at its best.

I continue to be hugely impressed by Emma’s knowledge of the human mind and body. How to keep it functioning at its peak, and as you experience life’s  frequent challenges and passage of time, using a variety of strategies and tools (in my case FSM, nutritional coaching, chronotherapy, holistic emotional health techniques, lab testing, functional medicine) she will diligently and carefully find a solution through knowledge, patience and experience to get you back to optimal health and wellbeing.

I sincerely recommend you giving her a call.

Good luck.
